The influence of mattresses on our body

Fitting to the body

Foam mattresses guarantee perfect fit and support of the body during sleep. They perfectly fill the space between the mattress surface and the body. The construction of spring mattresses does not guarantee such a good fit to the figure, which leads to pressure on the body during sleep. This results in back pain, blood circulation disorders and lack of proper regeneration during sleep.

Health effects

The health aspect should be one of the most important factors influencing the decision when choosing a mattress. If you are accompanied almost every day by pain caused by muscle tension or circulation problems, the cure for the whole evil is flexible foam. Thanks to this foam, the foam mattress reduces or eliminates persistent ailments. This feature makes flexible foam mattresses are also used in medicine as anti-bedsore or orthopedic mattresses.

The pressure exerted on the body

During use, the mattress exerts pressure on the sleeping person's body. It is different depending on the type of mattress. In case of spring mattresses it is over 32 mmHg! This pressure is considered unfavourable because it causes pressure and has a negative effect on blood flow in healthy capillaries. Foam mattresses perform much better in this combination - they exert half the pressure, which is 15 mmHg. This pressure value is safe and does not interfere with the cardiovascular system.

Heat dissipation

Regardless of the season and the type of mattress, airflow and heat dissipation are factors that greatly affect sleep quality and comfort. The foam used for mattresses has an open cell structure. This structure of the foam allows heat to drain and ensures optimal temperature on the surface of the mattress. In traditional spring beds, the heat dissipation and cooling effect is caused by gaps between the springs, whose vibration facilitates circulation.

Transfer movement

A comfortable sleep is, above all, a dream without any disturbance. Traditional spring mattresses carry movement and cause an unpleasant feeling of bouncing off the mattress, which can lead to a continuous awakening and, as a result, not falling asleep. Foam mattresses prevent the transfer of movement and guarantee a peaceful sleep for full regeneration and rest.

Hygiene

Keeping a mattress clean, on which we spend at least 7 hours a day, can be a time-consuming and difficult task. In the case of spring mattresses it is recommended to turn them over at least three months apart. In the case of foam mattresses, not only is there no need to roll over, but it is also possible to choose a product in which silver nanoparticles with antibacterial effect are used. This keeps the mattress clean and user-friendly all the time.

Reaction to body temperature

Foam mattresses react to your body heat and perfectly fit your figure, which guarantees excellent support and the highest sleeping comfort. This is possible thanks to the properties of the foams they are made of. Spring mattresses are not susceptible to temperature changes, which makes them not adapt to the user's needs as well as foam mattresses.

Weight

Foam and spring mattresses also differ in weight. Those made of flexible foam are up to three times lighter than spring mattresses, which weigh about 50kg. Less weight and the possibility of vacuum packing of the foam mattress makes it easy to transport, as opposed to a spring mattress, which is large and heavy.

Heat sensation

The breaks between the springs in traditional mattresses and the movement they make allow the air to flow freely and provide a cooling effect. In the case of foam mattresses, the open cell structure of the foam guarantees optimal ventilation.

Variety of shapes

A mattress that guarantees good sleep is important not only in the bedroom bed, but also in other places where we sleep. Thanks to their structure, foam mattresses can be produced in almost any shape. In the case of spring mattresses, the arrangement of springs causes limitations in the variety of shapes. Thanks to the ease of adjusting the shape of the mattress to the needs of users, foam mattresses are used in armchairs and beds in campers, yachts or airplanes, where they perfectly fulfil their roles.

Diverse offer

There is a wide range of foam mattresses available on the market to meet the expectations of even the most demanding users. Mattresses of different hardness and resilience are available, as well as allergy-friendly nano-silver mattresses. Spring mattresses do not offer that much choice. The only significant difference between them is the distribution of springs, which can be joined or divided and hidden in pockets made of fabric.

Price

The prices of foam and spring mattresses available on the market vary greatly. The factors that most influence the price are the cost of the materials used to make the mattress and its production costs.
